What do Peeled Finance offer?

Peeled Finance offers car finance! We work as a credit intermediary with motor finance providers. The car finance product is hire purchase, which allows you to spread the cost of your car purchase over a number of years. As it’s hire purchase, the car remains the property of the motor finance company until the final payment is made.

Who can apply?

We can provide car finance to anyone aged 21 or over, with an Irish bank account in their own name and an EU driving licence.

Do I need a deposit, or can I get finance on the full purchase amount?

You will need a minimum of 15% of the value of your new car.
This can be a deposit, trade-in or a mix of both.

Why do you need my photo ID and selfie?

All financial service providers need to verify your identity before offering you a service. By providing your photographic ID and consenting to taking a selfie, we can verify your identity. It also saves you having to upload a stack of documents.

Why can I buy a car from the Approved Dealer List only?

Buying from an approved dealer means that you have added reassurance that you are buying a quality car from a trusted dealer. We plan to add more dealers over time.

How long does it take to pay the dealership for my car?

As soon as the finance is approved, we get cracking, confirming the details with the dealer and getting the contract signed. Once this is done, the dealer receives payment – sometimes within a couple of hours, but never longer than one working day.

What cars can be financed?

Cars that are 6 years (2015) or newer, with a value up to €75,000.  Sorry bikers, speed merchants and business people, we don’t offer finance for high performance vehicles, commercial vehicles, vans or motorbikes right now.

Do you review my credit history as part of my application?

Yes, the finance provider will carry out a credit history check with the Irish Credit Bureau (ICB) as part of the credit decision. For further details on the ICB and how they use your data please visit  http://www.icb.ie/

Will a car finance application have an impact on my credit history?

Once a credit check is completed it leaves a footprint of the search which is visible on your credit history. Other providers will be able to see credit checks carried out.

Do I need to know the car registration I’m buying before I get started?

The simple answer is No!

We can give you an approval in principle without a car registration. Once you’ve an idea of the car you’d like, come back and enter the registration number. We’ll also help you with a quick history check and valuation.

What is APR?

APR stands for Annual Percentage Rate. This is the total charge including fees and interest, written as a percentage.

How do I make repayments?

We’ll help you set up a monthly direct debit. Repayments are made automatically.

Over how many years can I repay the finance?

The most popular is 5 years, but you can spread your payments over 2-6 years- depending on the age of the car.

Can I sell my vehicle before I repay all my scheduled repayments?

If you want to sell the car during the term of the finance agreement, you need to contact the motor finance provider to arrange repayment in full before the vehicle can be sold.

Is the information I provide secure?

As a responsible Data Controller, Peeled Finance respects your privacy. We have security measures in place to maintain the integrity of your private information. Your use of our services is strictly voluntary and is governed by our Terms of Service and Privacy Notice.

Will you share my personal information with third parties?

We take your privacy seriously, and strictly adhere to the Privacy Notice. We will only collect personal information that is necessary for us to provide the service to you, like credit history checks or correspondence with the motor finance provider and your selected Dealer. How do I get a copy of my information?

You can obtain a copy of your personal information from our Data Protection Officer by emailing your request to dataprotection@peeledfinance.com. There is no charge for obtaining your information.

How do I make a complaint if I am unhappy with the service from Peeled Finance?

You can contact our customer service in the first instance at hello@peeledfinance.com to discuss your service. If for some reason we are unable to satisfy you and you are still not happy, you can email our Complaints team on complaints@peeledfinance.com. For Complaints during the term of your agreement you should contact your motor finance provider. Their details can be found on your contract.

What happens if I am unable to make my repayments?

If you find yourself in financial difficulty, you should contact your motor finance provider immediately to discuss your circumstances. Warning: If you do not meet the repayments on your hire purchase agreement, your account will go into arrears. This may affect your credit rating, which may limit your ability to access credit in the future.
